Noosa - North Shore
Having the beach all to yourself isn't bad. It's easy to do up in Noosa's North Shore.
Although it's connected to the mainland, it couldn't feel more like an island - only accessible by car ferry and only hosting a single road that winds its way through the bush and out onto the beach.
It's a spectacularly isolated place.
We set up camp just off the beach and spent the afternoon collecting dinner - fresh Pipi's fried with loads of garlic and made into a simple pasta.
Kangaroos hopped around the camp site and had the occasional boxing match with one another as we cooked.
On the last morning of our stay, Tropical Cyclone Debbie started to close in on southern Queensland and the rain started to come down hard. By the time it hit in full force however, we were already out of its reach further South in Byron Bay.
