Italy - Dolomite Mountain Heights
The mountains of Northern Italy are well under-rated.
Lisa and I spent a week there in August and it was one of the most beautiful experiences of our lives.
The landscape is mind bending in every single valley and the hospitality and food are as expected in Italy, warm and addictive.
We flew in to Venice and drove the 3-4 hours north into the Dolomites. The drive was easy going with nicely maintained roads all the way and glorious views of the mountains once we left the coast.
We stayed in AirBnB accommodation in a small town near Tegosa. There were too many hikes and chairlifts to ride that we felt like we could have done another week in the area. Four days was a nice amount of time to get a good taste for the area though.
The mountain peaks were particularly beautiful. My attempt to capture them on camera below.
